2. Information we collect
We collect: (a) account information you voluntarily provide when creating an account (email, encrypted password, optional name); (b) price alert preferences you configure; (c) anonymized usage data related to affiliate link clicks (timestamp, referring page, anonymized browser fingerprint — never your full IP address or identity); (d) your language preference (French/English), stored in a technical cookie.
3. How we use this information
Your information is used solely to: operate your account and price alerts, measure affiliate link performance for reporting to our merchant partners, and improve the relevance of displayed deals. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Cookies
DealQC uses essential technical cookies: a session cookie (authentication), a language preference cookie, and an affiliate tracking cookie generated by our partners (Amazon Associates, Impact.com) when you click a "See the deal" link. No third-party advertising cookies are used at this time.
5. Sharing with third parties
When you click an affiliate link, you are redirected to the merchant's site (Amazon.ca, Walmart.ca, BestBuy.ca), which applies its own privacy policy. DealQC only transmits to these merchants the information strictly necessary for affiliate commission tracking, never your personal identity.
6. Your rights
In accordance with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector and Canada's PIPEDA, you may at any time request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by writing to us at contact@dealqc.com.
7. Data retention
Account information is kept as long as your account remains active. Anonymized affiliate click data is retained for statistical purposes and deleted after 24 months.
